Happy Anniversary Day #7

Thanks for entering to win Angie Lofthouse's three sci-fi novellas, everyone! The winner has been chosen ... and it's Fay!!

Today's prize is donated by Cindy Hogan, author of YA suspense. You will receive two books, one each of her novels Watched and Protected, and you can choose whether you'd like print or e-book. You can learn more about these books here. As a special treat, I'll be posting an interview with Cindy tomorrow, so you'll want to pop by and check that out.

After I self-published Season of Sacrifice in 2008, I was really eager to get my career up and going again. Three books in six years is pretty slow, and I was worried that everyone would forget who I was. I dusted off my manuscript for Faith Beyond Fear and sent it around to a few places, but in the meantime, I'd also started writing a cute LDS cozy mystery about three little old ladies who solved crime. It was Faith Beyond Fear that landed a contract first, renamed as Agent in Old Lace and produced by Cedar Fort. It came out in 2009.

LDS romantic suspense

Shannon Tanner has it all a perfect family, a perfect job, and a perfect boyfriend. Or so she thinks. What Shannon doesn't know is that her boyfriend, Mark, is stealing money from her father and making millions doing it. When Shannon learns Mark's secret, he turns on her, and Shannon's life abruptly goes from perfect to perilous.

In an effort to protect Shannon, the FBI assigns their only female agent to go undercover as her personal bodyguard. But when the agent is injured the day before the assignment, they turn to the next best thing: their top agent, Rick Holden in a dress.

Life seems safe again for Shannon with Rick by her side and Mark apparently gone for good. Then Shannon gets word that her best friend has been kidnapped, and it becomes clear that Mark isn't going to stop any time soon. Shannon realizes the only way to save herself and her friend and stop Mark once and for all is by sending Rick, her only source of protection, away. Can Rick save Shannon before it's too late?

You can purchase Agent in Old Lace at Amazon.comBarnes and Noble.com, and DeseretBook.com.

This book marked a huge shift in my career. It was the first non-historical novel I'd published after writing three in that genre, and I worried that it wouldn't go over well. It has been my bestselling novel to date, so I guess I didn't need to worry about it nearly as much as I did.

Leave a comment in this trail to be entered to win a prize from Cindy Hogan, come back tomorrow to enter again and read the interview with Cindy, and while you're at it, click here and enter the Thankful for Books giveaway hop! I'm having way too much fun on my blog this month.
