Happy Anniversary Day #11

Thanks to all who entered to win Vickie Hall's book. The winner is ... JoAnn!

Today's prize is an e-book download donated by Carolyn Frank, titled Promises.

Hattie is barely twelve when her pa’s “business adventures” disrupt her family and move them to the new town of Tropic, nestled in the shadows of old Ebenezer Bryce’s Canyon. Her pa views the town as opportunity. Hattie is hopelessly shy and views it with apprehension; she dreads the task of making new friends. More than anything else, Hattie wants to be like her father—not afraid of meeting new people, talking to strangers, and standing up for herself. So it is with trepidation that she accepts her pa’s challenge and promises to make new friends.
Hattie forms more promises as she struggles to make friends, finding companionship in places she wouldn’t have expected and learning that there is a difference between complaining and standing up for oneself.

Promises is a heartwarming story of friendship with a touch of mystery and adventure set in the days before Bryce Canyon became a national park. Drawn from the memoirs of early Utah settlers, it is a realistic glimpse into the past and a delightful story for readers ages eight to eighty.

So, continuing on down Memory Lane ...

After I published Dearly Departed with Walnut Springs, I started to pitch a series of manuscripts to them. Even though I had only been publishing sporadically up to that point, I had been writing consistently, and I had a number of projects in various stages of completion.    They told me which projects most interested them and which they felt wouldn't sell as well for them. One such project was a low-sodium cookbook I'd been working on after discovering that eating a low-sodium diet was helping me with some of my health problems. After looking at marketability, we decided that I'd go ahead and self-publish this one.

Cookbook

Tired of bland, boring low-sodium recipes? Tristi Pinkston brings some spice back into the kitchen with this huge collection of over eighty recipes designed to show your heart, and your taste buds, some love.

You can purchase Bless Your Heart at Amazon.com

I had a lot of fun writing this cookbook - I mean, who wouldn't have fun creating tons of great-tasting, heart-healthy recipes? I also did a bunch of research into the proper saline balance needed in the body and what can happen if your intake is too high or too low, and all that information is included in the front of the book as well.

All righty then - leave your comments to enter to win Carolyn's book, and also, tell me if you have any questions to be included in the next FAQ post, coming up soon.

PROMISES looks like such a wonderful book.

I could never write a cookbook. I tend to just make it up as I go along.

Cheers!!
