In honor of Pioneer Day, I'd like to direct your attention over to my new blog, "
Blessed Honored Pioneers," which I started to commemorate the Hole in the Rock pioneers. And if you have any cool pioneer ancestors you'd like to brag about, please leave a comment in this trail so we can all read about them.

I'm a convert. My husband's a convert. But his great-great-great grandmother joined the church in Kirtland, walked to Utah, helped settle Payson--the whole shot.
Her daughter (DH's gg grandmother), when told to get in the wagon, said no, she wasn't going to be a Mormon. Instead, she walked barefoot to Oberlin College, married a Congregationalist minister, and founded a long line of Congregationalist ministers, who honor their blessed, honored pioneer foremother for her courage not to join the silly Mormons.
Go figure!
Thanks for sharing, Lee Ann -- what a story!
Lee Ann, that is an awesome story! Two sets of pioneer ancestors, walking across the plains to join two different churches. Shows a lot of faith and courage runs in that bloodline. :)
I love pioneer stories. Cool picture too.
