Spring Reading Thing

I'm a little bit late getting on board with the Spring Reading Thing, but better late than never, as the old saying goes! There's a theme to the books I've chosen for this time around -- they're books that have, for one reason or another, been shoved off other reading challenge lists to make way for other books. It's your turn in the sun now, little books!

1. "My Name is Russell Fink" -- Snyder

2. "Black Sea Affair" -- Brown

3. "In Perfect Balance" -- Condie

4. "Mary, Martha, and Me" -- Olson

5. "Pages from the Past" -- Arnold

6. "The Pilot's Wife" -- Shreeve

7. "Skeleton Man" -- Hillerman

8. "Silent Patriots" -- Arnold

9. "Shadows on the Sea" -- Harlow

10. "Jennie" -- McCloud

11. "16 in No Time" -- Rowley

12. "Seasons of Salvation" -- Mangrum

13. "Diamonds are Forever" -- Mangrum

14. "Almost Sisters" -- Littke, Anderson and Morris

Keep your eyes on my sidebar for updates and links to the reviews -- I'll be posting said reviews on Families.com.

Looks like a great list. I've only read "Almost Sisters" which I liked. The rest are pretty unfamiliar to me so it will be fun to read your reviews. I'd better join this challenge myself. Better late than never.

Tristi,
Looks like a fun list; I'll be waiting to hear what you have to say about them. I've read B.J.'s book, "Sixteen in No Time" and really enjoyed it.

By the way, I mentioned you in my blog at www.ldswritersblogck.com. If you get a minute, go check it out.

I haven't read anything on your list and I've only heard of two of them. Geez! Have I been under a rock or something? Or are your tastes just very eclectic? :)

Look forward to your reviews.

Is Karlene living under a rock? Let's investigate.

Two of them are brand new releases from Zondervan, so it's probably okay that you haven't heard of them. Six are somewhat recent releases in the LDS market, so maybe a little rock-ish there. One is an old release in the LDS market, and one is an old national release.

I'd have to know which are the ones you've heard of before I could accurately answer your rock question.

I've read The Pilot's Wife and Jennie. There are a few others I *think* I've read, but wasn't certain. I'm very interested to see what you think of The Pilot's Wife. I saw the movie they made out of it and definitely liked the book better.

Tristi,
What an impressive list. I've read "Almost Sisters" and it was a good book.

Out of curiosity, where does this challenge come from and how many books would I need to read to sign up? I'm on a major reading spurt right now, so I'm wondering if it's too late to jump on the wagon.

Can't wait to get a copy of your newest book!
