I've been asked to be a presenter at the ANWA Conference in Gilbert, Arizona, on March 1st. I'll be teaching an extended version of my "Writer's Voice" class I taught last year at the LDStorymakers Conference. This class will be offered twice throughout the day, and you'll also hear from Kathryn Jenkins of Covenant, as well as Kerry Blair and other fabulous presenters. Click here to check it out.
On March 21st and 22nd, come join me in Sandy, Utah, at the 2008 LDStorymakers Writers Conference. I'm heading up the Boot Camp with Candace Salima and we're also teaching a class on Internet promotion and blogging. I just discovered that our class is right across from Brandon Sanderson's, so we may not have a soul coming to hear us -- that would be sad. But if you're not interested in writing fantasy, you could come fill up some of our chairs. It's going to be an awesome class whether we have two or twenty participants. Click here to find out more about this conference which has been dubbed the best conference west of the Mississippi and is endorsed by Lisa Mangum of Deseret Book.

The writer's voice class was fantastic!
I saw that you are presenting at the ANWA conference and wish I could attend, but I had to choose one conference and decided on the Storymakers conference. You'll do a great presentation--your class last year was sooooo good, I still remember it and have often thought about it.
I'm so there for your blogging class at the conference--will you cover blog book tours? And, don't worry we'll have blast in your class no matter how many are there--you and Candace are way fun!
It looks like a lot of fun, Tristi! And don't worry, your blogging class a the Writers Conference will be filled. Not every one is a fantasy writer :) Plus you have a fine rep as a teacher.
I am really, really looking forward to your presentation on March 1st here in Arizona. I am blessed to live very close to where the ANWA Conference will be and so I get to meet you...yipeeee!
(I'm going to be joining ANWA :)
Also- I plan to attend the LDStorymakers Conference and I don't write fantasy...so your class {and Candace's} will be my pick, for sure. :)
If you want to bring my copy of your book on Benjamin Perkins to the ANWA conference then you will save on shipping for me. Just let me know the cost so I can pay you then. {This is: If you want to, remember to or don't forget to...teehee}
I just read on Blogger Babes that your "Season of Sacrifice" isn't going to even be reagy until mid-March. I guess that crosses out the idea of you bringing your book to the ANWA conference, Oh, well. Bummer.
But I will be a the LDStorymakers...so maybe you can tag it along then? Not that you will have so much to think about to even remember this.... so whatever works best for you, Miss T. :)
Gilbert!! That's practically in my backyard.
I just got permission from the boss to go to the Sandy conference, (I registered this morning). Now, I'll have to go and see if we can squeeze it into the budget to go to the local one as well. My former bishop is also interested in writing, but as the Stake Executive Secretary, he's pretty busy. I'll let him know about this and see if we can't get more people to sign up.
Thanks for the info Tristi.
Well ok, when I got home from work I took a closer look at the ANWA website. I have the distinct impression that neither the Stake Executive Secretary nor I are invited to this conference are we?
Curse me and my manliness... ;-)
Oh well, I'll just tell my friend that I was smoking crack when I saw the conference info.
Looking forward to the Sandy conference.
Dan and Wendy!
The ANWA Writers Conference is open to the whole world! It's just membership in the organization that is restricted to LDS women writers.
In fact, author Dan Yates of Angel fame credits the ANWA conference he attended many years ago for helping him get his start.

I absolutely loved your "voice" class last year tristi. It wasn't anything that i expected, yet everything i needed. Since that class, i have tried extra hard to include in my prayers for God to influence my writing... and it has certainly helped, no matter how slow i was (or how "bad" i still am). I hope i can attend the new class as well. I'll be attending the conference, making the long AZ trip like autum is... but it's totally worth while. see you there!
That's great. Thank you for clarifying.
That voice class you taught last year was one of the most inspirational classes on writing I have ever experienced. They were right to ask you to Arizona. Hopefully I will be able to see you again this year!
Two questions - is there still registration spaces available? And can wee little novices like me come?
Of course you can come, wee little novice! Hurry and register soon, though, 'cause we are getting filled up.
Plus I would love to meet you!
