Author Interview: Donna Hatch

Today I'm joined by popular author Donna Hatch, who has really pretty hair, in addition to being a talented author.  Donna, thanks for hanging out with me today.

You write both historical and fantasy.  Do you prefer one over the other, or do you enjoy them both the same?
I love them both. Historical takes more research about the minutiae but they are both about balancing realism with fantasy. They are both all about total escapism.

Your blog states that you are a Golden Quill Finalist. Can you tell us a little bit about that award?
It's an award for published books which has several categories, and I went up against many nationally-published authors. The competition was fierce, so just finaling meant a great deal to me. I plan to sweep it this year ;-)

Do you have any habits or routines you follow to get into the writing zone - music, a special snack, a certain pair of shoes?
Nah, it's more about when I can squeeze in a little time during the day (or night). Sometimes I'll reread the last page I wrote, but usually I can jump-start pretty quickly without any fanfare.

If you could write only one more book before the end of your life, what would it be about?

My story of meeting and falling in love with my husband.

Sounds like you should write it right now so we can hear it!
