Houston, We Have Rough Draft

Given that this is my writing blog, I thought it only fitting that I post a writing-related blog from time to time. Seems to make sense.

I'm delighted to announce that yesterday I finished the rough draft for my eighth novel, "Ida Mae Rides Again."

I think that's totally deserving of a Snoopy Happy Dance, don't you?

Sweet. How long does it usually take you to get your first draft written, once you have a good solid idea?

Thanks for dancing with me, everyone!

Jen, it really all depends on the book. On this one and the one before, they're light funny mysteries, and I reached rough draft on them in about six weeks each. My historicals took me between four months to six months to hit rough draft, except for Season of Sacrifice, which was eighty hours start to finish. So there's a lot of spread there.

I love the title! Just that would be enough for me to read it.

Congrats from someone who knows! I should have used this Snoopy picture on my own blog when I finished the rough draft of my screenplay a week ago.
