I've thought about it long and hard, and the locale I've chosen for the book is:

Rachelle, which of my three books would you like as your prize?

Did you close your homeschool rant to future comments or something? I've tried to make a comment twice and it never shows up even if I refresh your blog or come back to is a couple of hours later. Oh well. Maybe it was too long ~ do you have a limit? As a homeschoolin mom who has done every other type of school with her kids as well, I kind of had a lot to say. Either way, take care.

Woo hoo! I'm so excited. Since I already own Season of Sacrifice, I would really like to read Strength to Endure.
Thanks so much and I hope you'll give us lots of teasers about this book you're working on.

Sounds great, Rachelle -- I will get this book in the mail to you soon. And I will drop hints, except I'm not actually working on that book yet. :) I'm working on a three-part book, and finished the first book this week, started the second one during my BIAM for July, and I needed to pick a country for the third book as it's mentioned in the second. Clear as mud? :) Anyway, I'm excited by the whole trilogy and loving every minute of it. It's a comedy, which is something I've only dabbled in before.

Thanks for the suggestion of Mexico, and congratulations on winning!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my site, Tristie. I recognized your name immediately when I saw we'd both won shirts from Storycasting.com. And of course I do recall that you read and reviewed Whale Song. :)

I hope to have another book for you to review next year. My agent says it's in the hands of 8 publishers now. It'll make a great topic for Families.com because it deals with child abduction. I'll let you know as soon as I get a deal for Children of the Fog.

Loved your post on homeschooling. I homeschooled my daughter from Gr. 1-4. She chose to go to public school afterward. She always recalls her homeschool time as "fun". Her first public school teacher was surprised at how smart smy daughter was (she was ahead of the class in many areas) and how social she was.

It always bothers me the misconception that uneducated people have about homeschooling. Yes, there is the odd family that takes it too far; they usually live out in the boonies in a rural area, so their kids can't socialize.

But for most homeschooled children, there is tons to do. I organized so many events for other families and kids. We went everywhere; we went on field trips about every second week.

This contest of yours I take it was for the setting of your next book. Funny, Mexico will be a setting for one of my future novels. I went down on a reconnaisance trip (aka...holiday!) at the end of Feb. and had a blast. Next time I go, I plan to do a couple of book signings. :)

All the best to you and your writing career! :)
