I'm starting to see a lot of my blog friends mentioning that they're planning on the LDStorymakers Writers Conference coming up this March. I'm so excited to see all of you. Do me a favor and leave a comment on this blog and let me know which of you are planning to come, okay?
For those of you who don't know what the conference is, LDStorymakers is a writers guild for LDS authors, and every year for the last five years, we've held a conference to teach writing. Our conference has been called one of the best in the nation and has been endorsed by Lisa Mangum, acquisitions editor for Deseret Book. Check out the details here.
Furthermore, at lunch on Saturday at the conference, I'd like to have lunch with all of you. Let me know if that works for you!
Can't wait to see you all in March. The conference is literally the highlight of my year -- I look forward to it more than I do Christmas. This year Candace and I are running Boot Camp, and we're also teaching the blogging/Internet promotion classes. There will be writing contests, classes for every skill level, editors from national and LDS publishers -- this is really the place to be. Go check out the information page.

Tristi,
I WILL be there, but not for most of Friday. I'm hoping to get out of school as quickly as possibly and get down to Sandy. But I will be there for all of Saturday, including boot camp. And of course it'd be great to have lunch!
Tristi - Wanted to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
I'm planning to come but still working out the logistics—like do I stay at the hotel or have my daughter come to drive me home after dark...
I plan and hope to be at the Story Makers Conference in March. :) There are a couple circumstances that may cause it not to happen for me- but I'm crossing my fingers.
As I mentioned before...a blogger buddies lunch on Saturday would be so fun!
I'm planning to make the trip, and I just might - MIGHT - be able to have a rough draft finished by then.
It's spring break for my girls, so I'll be bringing them for the week.
I've already registered for both days and will be at the boot camp as well. Saturday lunch sounds great. I'm looking forward to the whole weekend.
I was planning to come, but this pregnancy is causing a re-write of all my major plans for 2008. We'll see. It sounds so fun!
Tristi- Thanks for the post. As this is the first that I'm hearing of this conference, I'll have to check to see if I can make it, but I would love to go and meet other established LDS writers, and aspiring writers.
What a neat idea! I'm going to be there. Is there going to be a big enough table for all of us? grin.
So envious of you all! Hope to come next year. =)
I'm planning on it. I already have my hotel reservation but still need to register for the conference.
And, I'm very excited. I've been looking forward to it for a long time!
hi tristi,
happy new year.
i wish wish wish i could go. sounds like such a neat experience!
kathleen :)
I'll be there - hubby too! I was planning on going to boot camp this year (and especially jazzed about it when I heard you and Candace were doing it!) but I don't think I can get David to go to it, lol! And I don't think I can go without him since we're each others' rides!
I'll have lunch with ya Tristi!
Tristi,
I have a question for you. How do you know when you should stop revising and start submitting? Or how do you know when you should start submitting a novel that you know still needs some revising?
I'm HOPING I can go this year! I'm a little worried about not being able to register before the attendance limit is hit. Have to wait for the tax refund.
I will definitely be there for all of it! I've already registered.
PAulette and I michelle are coming. We have been so excited to go this year last year was a blast and we learned so much. cant wait ti see you there.
Michelle
