BIAM -- Sayonara, Day 4 -- Now Bring on Day 5!

How'd it go, everyone? I came to a conclusion on when to kill my character (I sound so cold-blooded) and am now happily leading up to the demise. I got 1,661 words done today, which actually was a bit of a surprise because I was sick most of the day and didn't think I'd be up to writing.

I've left a few gaps that I'll go back and fill in later, but for now I'm getting everything down that's outlined in my brain. The main problem now is that I have all of the big climax moments figured out, but need to work on getting from here to there.

Thanks to those who have checked in for the day, and those who are about to. Keep forging ahead and plugging away (and any other over-used motivational cliches you can think of) -- it's pretty thrilling to think of all this creativity percolating and I'm glad that I get to be a part of it in some way.

Thursday. Today was like pushing my brain through sludge. Only 700 words, but that's more than yesterday. Just have to keep going...

I'm curious. Do you outline first, or start writing as it comes?

If you all knew the past 3 days of my life and all that has happened you would wonder why I didn't just hide in my closet buried under all my shoes and only emerged when dinner was done. {oh yeah I have to make dinner}

I have written everyday- very little but it's something!

Day 3: About 300 words
Day 4: About 175 words

I am seriously beginning to wonder about something...ya know how when you try so hard to stay in tune with our Heavenly Father, or when you make specific goals to attend the temple- here comes the opposition? Well, he has a name: Mr. Lucifer. {yucky name- yucky guy} Frankly, I don't care for him too much. {shhh don't tell him} He is really bugging me and trying very hard to pull me away from my personal goals. Which right now is to write an awesome and uplifting novel! I hate you Satan.

But he doesn't see this coming... I WILL FIGHT YOU UGLY *$&$*#@*!

Sorry...needed to let off some steam. I'm ok. It's all good now.
I'm just gonna go write some more...

Day 5 totals
35 minutes
933 words
4591 Total

I had to let the editor out of his cage to help me rearrange all the little plot threads left hanging by moving chapters. Once out, though, he thought he needed to carefully work and rework each new sentence.

It took a while before I figured out what was happening, but I eventually got him locked back up.

(I like the idea of giving the editor a name. I'll have to try and come up with one.)

I've resigned myself to the fact that today is going to be a day of juggling. I started working on abridging my audio book (I whined about this on my blog) and was surprised that I had a quick idea for my new book and managed to write about 125 words. At least it's something! Now I get to look at evals for yet another book and do some rewriting so it can be considered for publication. WHEW! Is it time for a nap yet?

Friday's count...534 words. I know my word counts are small, but for once I feel like I'm heading somewhere.

I'm with you, Jaime...wading through the sludge all the way!

I am loving this challenge because I am actually writing! It's Friday now and I wrote 2, 185 words today for a total of 9, 801 so far!

I had a few thousand written when the challenge started - but they had sat there, all alone, for about three months. They were lonely! I needed this challenge to prod me into writing again.

What I'm loving best about this challenge is that as I'm writing daily, the story stays so fresh and alive in my mind that it's easy to pick up where I left the day before.

Also, knowing I only have to get in a thousand words (which usually takes me about 1/2 an hour) means it's do-able and even if I'm busy/tired/whatever, I can do it.

I CAN DO IT!!!

YAY! Thanks so much Tristi!

And thank you too to all those who are participating - I love reading the updates and knowing I'm in good company!

I've been feeling down this week (not trying to make excuses just making a full report), so I've fallen a little behind, but in the big scheme of things, I know that I've already made a lot of progress - especially in the rhythm and flow of my writing! Done so far - over 6000 words in one work week!
